At the time of the article, DoragonLand has released a total of 39 different cards and all of them are tradable in the marketplace. This is not a small number for new players. In order to give newbies a general understanding of the DoragonLand card system and make their start easier, this guide will be giving a brief explanation of all card’s roles/classifications. This will also be helpful later on when you decide to build your own self a basic deck.

*Note:

I will skip some very basic terms like Melee, Ranged, Air Cards because they are very straightforward.

Many cards can fulfill 2 or more roles due to their versatility, or somewhat mixed in-between.

You should get used to the definition of “Win-Condition”. This is the key card of your deck, which is the major source of damage on the opponent’s tower. You will build your deck involving your win-condition(s) of choice.

Dragon

Tank

This class includes Dragons with very high HP. They are usually Win-Conditions. Their main aim is to act as a shield and absorb damage for other Dragons, generally in the offense.

Examples of tank

Mini Tank

This class includes Dragons with moderately high HP and cheaper mana costs. They perform the same role as a Tank but normally on defense. Then they can continue to support the counter push.

Mini Tank

Splasher

This class includes all AoE (Area of Effect) damage dealers, thus their damage may not be high. They are very good at dealing with Swarm cards. It is recommended to have at least one in your deck.

Examples of Splasher

Glass Cannon

This class includes Dragons with low HP so they can be killed easily but they can deal an insanely high amount of damage if left alive. Due to this, they are usually used as a tank killer.

Examples of Grass Cannon

Swarm

This class includes Multi-Unit Cards which deploy many units upon use. These have a high DPS (Damage per Second) due to the high number of troops so they can be used as tank killers too.

Examples of Swarm

Cycling Cards

Cycling cards are cards with a very low mana cost (1 or 2 mana). They are used to quickly move forward in your card cycle so that you get a particular card once again, usually a key card like a win condition. They also help to lower the Average Mana Cost of your deck.

Examples of Cycling Cards

Building

Having Building in your deck is essential, especially when you want to have an easy time because they are the only type of card that can kite/distract Building Targeting Troops (Win Condition).

Active Building

This class includes buildings that deal damage directly. They are generally used as a response to the opponent’s cards. One special card is “Mortal”, which can also be win-condition due to its insanely long range of sight.

Examples of Active Building

Passive Building

This class includes buildings that do not deal damage or deal it indirectly through the troops they spawn. Therefore they are mostly used as passive plays to make the opponent react. These cards can also be called Spawner, cause, it spawns troops. There is one exception is the card “Mana Well”, which “spawns” mana instead of troops.

Examples of Passive Building

Spell

Having at least one Spell in your deck is highly recommended. They are very versatile due to the fact that they can be used anywhere on the field. Understanding which spells instantly (or nearly) kill which troops are very important.

Damage Dealing Spells

This class includes all spells which deal damage. They can give a lot of mana advantage if used properly. These spells are further divided into three categories based on their cost and damage: Small, Medium, and Heavy Spells.

Examples of Damage Dealing Spells

Supporting Spells

This class includes all spells which do not deal damage or only a very little amount, but rather do something else to strengthen your push or defense.

Supporting Spells

Troop Spawning Spells

At the moment there is only one card that falls into this group, which is “Barrel of Three”. This type of card is a win-condition because you can just throw it straight into your opponent’s tower.

Alright, that’s all. Hope you guys enjoyed reading our guide about the Doragon Land card system. If you have any suggestions for improving the guide or any questions to ask, please feel free to chat with our support team on Telegram.
