How do I use PancakeSwap?

To get started on PancakeSwap, first you’ll need to set up a wallet that supports Binance Smart Chain (BSC). Once you’ve made a BSC wallet and gotten your BEP20 tokens, you just need to connect your wallet with PancakeSwap and you can start using the protocol to provide liquidity or swap/trade tokens. Keep in mind that to do most things on BSC, you will need to pay gas, which comes in the form of BEP20 BNB.

I saw a token was trading at X value but when I traded on PancakeSwap, I got a much lower value. How does that happen?

Websites that show token prices, like Etherscan or CoinMarketCap, often aggregate price data from multiple sources. Some of these sources can be inaccurate, especially new or low-volume tokens. If a website or an app says a token is worth more than what is displayed on PancakeSwap, it is due to the website’s or app’s inaccurate data sources. Always check the exchange rate on PancakeSwap before trading.

What are the costs to conduct transactions on PancakeSwap?

BSC requires gas to execute each transaction. You can also check BSC gas station for the current prices required to complete transactions.

Moreover, when you make a token swap (trade) on PancakeSwap you will pay a 0.25% trading fee, which is broken down as follows:

  • 0.17% — Returned to Liquidity Pools in the form of a fee reward for liquidity providers.
  • 0.03% — Sent to the PancakeSwap Treasury.
  • 0.05% — Sent towards CAKE buyback and burn.
