PART B: BUILD YOUR DECK

Basic Knowledge

“Deck Building” in Doragon Land is actually very easy. You can ask from the community or copy from your opponent, even top players. You can do this without much effort. Although, in case you want to build yourself a unique deck of your own, this article can help you from scratch. Even when you copy and paste, well understanding how the deck works are also crucial to achieving victory.

Part I: Key components

There are a lot of cards with different roles and abilities. If you are still not familiar with it, I suggest you can check out “https://doragon-land.medium.com/an-overview-of-doragonland-card-system-c084c75af80d
to have an overlook on the DoragonLand card system. You will soon realize you cannot fit everything you need in only an 8-slot deck. These are key components of a deck you should consider:

1) Win Condition:

Your main source of a tower damage dealer. This one will straight up decide your deck type.

2) Distractor:

The main purpose is to keep enemy troops busy by kiting or tanking hits. Can be either Mini Tank or Swarm,…

3) Tank Killer:

Self-explained, to kill an enemy tank

4) Swarm Killer:

Self-explained, to kill enemy swarms

5) Building:

You don’t really need Building in your team, but if you want to have an easy time dealing with Win Condition cards, those normally only be kited by building, then there you have it.

6) Spell:

The reason you should have at least one spell in your deck is that it can deal direct damage to your opponent’s tower or take out many troops at once with little investment.

7) Cycle Card:

To make your deck lighter and quicker to cycle back to your important cards like Win Condition.

8) Flexible Spot:

To fill in what your deck still lacks and what you need. It can be a second win-condition (direct first win-condition support) in case your first main win-condition got hard countered or even better, a meta response, the card to deal with problematic current meta.

Tips:

- You can totally take out a Building, a Spell for a second Distractor, a second Tank Killer, or vice versa. You shouldn’t use only one Tank Killer or Swarm Killer anyway because what if you don’t have the right card in hand?

- Try to aim for cards that can fulfill many roles at once like Skeleton Army (Swarm + Tank Killer) or Thorn (Mini Tank + Swarm Killer).

- The Building should accomplish what your deck lacks in defense.

- One small spell and one big spell in your deck is generally a good idea.

Remember, there is not only one way to approach Deck Building. You will learn more and more advanced stuff in the long run. The most important part of Deck Building is Trial and Error. It may sound good on paper, you still need to put your deck through some tests against real opponents. And don’t be discouraged if you lose, try to change how to utilize your deck or replace 1–2 cards first before abandoning the deck completely. On contrary, even when you didn’t follow anything and came up with a pretty unique idea if a deck works for you, then it works. Only winning matters
